Great job for this first-time author. Through Trame and the character Cyrus the Praetorian (a single scene character from Correction that is given a much larger role in this story), the audience is given a glimpse into the stagnant, seedy underbelly of the Empire's power structure. Not happy with this book. My 5 month old daughter loves this book . Thus, the end of the Hong Kong Saga is presented by "Shan Pao". This book initially had a lot of promise, and reading the cover and synopsis put me in mind of "Angela's Ashes" and other stories of Irish hardship.
