i def recommend the entire series (4 books). Wilber Smith is artful in telling a enthralling, captivating tale with plenty of action, human romance and beauty of the African colonies while they are in their infancy. The language is old, even for me, being written even before my time. That being said it's still worth a read for the idea and the beginning alone and I look forward to seeing how the author develops with future stories.
